Selection criteria and procedures:

1. Eligible applicants will be ranked according to their cGPA. The maximum quota of seats available for one academic year is capped at 10.

2. The number of students shortlisted will be in proportion to the number of actual applications received from each faculty/school. Total number of shortlisted students is 70.

3. Please note that in certain marginal cases, where applicants have identical cGPA, interviews may be arranged as necessary. In these instances, national-level achievements/ awards in extracurricular activities will be taken into consideration. Please complete the relevant section of the application form as deemed necessary.

4. Once the proposed nomination shortlist is ready, IDO will send it to the respective faculty/school for review and approval.

5. Nominations will be sent to HKBU once the applications of shortlisted students are endorsed by all relevant units.

Study seat placement:

Within the group of 70 shortlisted nominees, the preferences of the top 10 students applying for one academic year will be prioritized. Subsequent allocations will be made according to the original preferences of the remaining nominees until the pre-determined quota for each study period (S1:30 or S2:30) is met. For instance, if more than 30 students opt for S1, the first 30 students on the shortlist will be accommodated for that period. Any additional students will be allocated to the other available study period.
