Ⅰ. General Courses

Please let us know what you would like to study in UIC. We shall do our best to meet your requirement and find the experts in your chosen field. Topics might cover different areas of Chinese society and development, so students will get an overview of life in China.

Currently we offer a series of lectures on contemporary social, economic and environmental issues. Lectures usually last for two hours. Topics could include:

Ⅱ. Chinese Language learning

When you arrive we offer you a basic course in Chinese. Faculty members from our Chinese Language Center will teach you some basic Chinese characters and sentences. After a few sessions, you will be able to conduct simple conversations in a variety of social situations (e.g., greetings, shopping, booking rooms, and asking for directions).

Ⅲ. Activities

We would like to make sure that you experience more Chinese cultural activities, so we offer a variety of activities on campus. In some of these activities you will also get chance to interact with UIC students.

On Campus Activities

1. Calligraphy

2. Dragon and Lion Dance

3. Taiji Quan

4. Gongfu

5. Experimental Development Programme (Team building)

6. Chinese Traditional Music Instrument performance

Off Campus Activities

     1. Environmental Programme

     2. Volunteer Programme

     3. Factory visits

     4. Visits to destinations related to your theme

Ⅳ. Field Trips

Field Trips will be specifically arranged for the programme. In the past 5 years, we have taken students to Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Shantou, Foshan, Shanghai and Beijing. The purpose of the field trip is to gain first-hand experience of these cities.

     1. Zhuhai: One Day Trip

     2. Zhongshan :Sun Yet-set Museum and Sanxiang clothes and shoes factory outlets visit

     3. Two Days Weekend Trips:

         Over night stay in city within Guangdong Province.

         For example: Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, and Shantou. 

     4. Approximately One Week Trips to Cities all Around China.
