About the 2026 Overseas Summer Programs
BNBU offers students the opportunity to participate in short-term overseas summer study programs. Any full-time Year 1 to Year 3 students who meet the application requirements are eligible to apply for the IDO-organized summer programs. These are self-funded programs, and we encourage students to participate based on their individual needs. Before applying, students are advised to carefully review all the requirements of the host institution, as well as travel risks and policies, and make an informed decision with the consent of their parents or legal guardians.
Interested students are encouraged to pay close attention to emails from IDO. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.
Partner Institution Information Sessions:
Some online information sessions with partner institutions have already been announced via email and are ongoing. Furthermore, IDO will invite representatives from several overseas universities for online sharing sessions at a later stage. These sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to learn more about the host institutions and the experiences you can expect from the summer programs.

Details of the 2026 IDO Summer Programs:
Application Requirements:
1. Year 1 to Year 3 students with a cumulative GPA (cGPA) of 2.0 or above (with no semester GPA below 1.68) are eligible to apply.
2. Applicants must obtain a valid passport by March 2, 2026, with at least six months of validity remaining after the program ends.
3. Students applying to Canadian programs must be at least 19 years old, while students applying to other programs must be at least 18 years old.
4. Some programs may have additional English proficiency and cGPA requirements. Please refer to the program list for details.
5. Due to time constraints and limited spots, each student is advised to apply for only one IDO-organized summer program. Additionally, as the process for overseas summer programs is lengthy, students with other travel plans during the same period are advised not to apply to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
6. The majority of IDO-organized overseas summer programs include credit transfer options (credits will not be calculated into your cGPA):
Course grades must meet BNBU’s minimum grade of C or above to be eligible for credit transfer (Note: Pass/Fail grades from overseas institutions are not acceptable for credit transfer).
Students who have already successfully completed the same course at BNBU with a passing grade or higher cannot apply for credit transfer.
7. Generally, IDO-organized overseas summer programs are group-based programs. By applying for these programs, students agree to follow the group travel arrangements made by BNBU, including group departures and returns. The departure and return airports will generally be located in Guangdong Province or Hong Kong. Individual travel arrangements during or after the program are not permitted.
8. Overseas Insurance Requirement: Students participating in overseas summer programs must have travel insurance that covers the entire duration of the trip.
9. Once admitted to the summer program, the administrative fee of 1,200 RMB is non-refundable under any circumstances.
