UIC offers students opportunities to study in one of the overseas partner institutions for one semester during their four years (in general Y2 or Y3 depending on programme) study in UIC. Listed below are available seats for the AY2024/2025 Spring Semester. The IDO Semester Exchange & Study Abroad Programmes are voluntary programmes including tuition-waiver exchange seats and fee-paying seats.
Minimum academic requirement: cGPA 2.5 (sGPA no less than 2.0)
Minimum English language requirement for overseas exchange and study abroad: IELTS 6.0 (RWSL no less than 5.5) or TOFEL79 (RWSL no lower than 19)
IDO will select qualified students based on their academic records, host school quota, TOEFL/IELTS score, participation in Extra Curricular Activities as well as reference letters, and submit the complete application materials to deans and AR for approval. The Department Head or his/her representative will be invited to conduct interviews with overseas exchange and study abroad applicants. 1300 RMB application/training fee per student will be charged once the student is nominated by UIC. This fee is not refundable.
· About 97 exchange and study abroad seats are available until May 31st, 2024. Notice will be sent out to all students if more study places are offered by partner institutions.
IMPORTANT:
Please note that some partner institutions may have higher cGPA or English language requirements. To obtain more comprehensive information regarding each partner institution, such as course offerings, tuition fees for fee-paying programme, and specific application requirements, please refer to their respective web pages.
Before submitting your application, it is strongly recommended that you consult with your Department Head or Academic Advisor of your programme with your study plan.
For visa application purposes, please be well aware that students applying to study in countries like South Korea, Germany and Spain for one semester must obtain an enrollment verification report as one of the essential visa application supporting documents.
Every UIC student can apply successfully only once during their undergraduate studies for a tuition-waived study away program (ESP or exchange programme).
Students participating in the semester outbound programs are not eligible to extend their study at the host institution beyond the agreed term of the exchange or study abroad program. Furthermore, such participants are not eligible to transfer their enrollment to the host institution or to obtain a degree from the host institution.
