The International Student Club braved the rain on February 25 to visit Zhuhai’s New Summer Palace, a replica of the previously destroyed Qing Dynasty masterpiece. The palace opened about twenty years ago, and features brightly painted replicas of the original buildings surrounded by beautifully kept gardens and stunning views of the mountains.
The palace gave international and Chinese students a taste of royal life in southern China, complete with performances of traditional songs and dances.
The palace complex also has many modern day attractions, including a small amusement park where students could try their hand at target shooting, and some even braved a haunted house.
This experience allowed international students from all over the world to bond with each other, their roommates, and Chinese students who went along, many of whom have also studied abroad.
