Growing Closer Together: UIC and HKBU Announce a New Joint Exchange Programme

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) and UIC have reaffirmed their close ties by rolling out a new exchange programme for students of both campuses.

HKBU has been committed to the ideal of whole person education since its establishment as a college in 1956 and this dedication propelled it to become a public university in 1994. As one of the founding institutions of UIC in 2005, HKBU has since passed its commitment along to the mainland.

Together, UIC and HKBU are actively pursuing deeper connections between Zhuhai and Hong Kong under the Greater Bay Area Cities’ Initiative. The new exchange programme builds on the universities’ previously established collaborations to further promote student exchange and the cooperation of higher education institutions.

The new exchange programme offers 20 HKBU students a semester or a year-long opportunity to come to our beautiful Zhuhai campus, where they will experience the vibrant educational style of Mainland China’s first liberal arts college, explore the mainland employment environment, and mingle with their UIC counterparts.

UIC students, already able to participate in short exchanges to Hong Kong, will now similarly be able to spend an entire semester at HKBU’s dynamic Kowloon Tong campus, benefitting from the fast-paced urban setting as well as HKBU’s creative infrastructure and access to the global community.

Both universities have a wide selection of English-language courses across a wide range of subjects, allowing students to pursue their passions wherever they are.
