各位同学，

长达三年的疫情之后，我们终于迎来了边境的开放和旅行限制的解除。虽然我们仍然面临新冠疫情带来的健康风险以及旅行的不确定性，但是，我们很高兴地宣布，国际发展处（IDO） 将开放2023年海外项目和几个在线暑期项目的申请（*请时时关注更新）。

UIC为学生提供短期海外暑期学习机会， 每一位符合申请条件的全日制Y1-3学生可申请IDO组织的海外暑期项目。本项目为自费项目，请学生根据自身需求自愿参加。申请之前，请仔细考虑主办机构的所有要求、旅行风险和政策，以便在征得父母/法定监护人同意的情况下做出明智的决定。

接下来IDO将会安排2023暑期项目的分享会，同时也会邀请部分海外院校开展线上分享会。

2023 IDO海外暑期项目详情：

申请须知：

1.大一到大三cGPA大于2.0（每学期GPA不得小于1.68）的同学可报名。（请注意，线上申请时同学们应填写含2022年秋季学期成绩的cGPA。该学期成绩拟于2月28日由AR发布。）

2.申请的同学务必在3月2日前取得有效护照，且项目结束后仍有6个月的有效期。

3.申请加拿大项目的同学须满19岁，其他项目须满18岁。

4.部分项目有英语水平和cGPA要求，请参考项目清单。

5.由于时间紧迫和席位有限，每位学生建议仅参加一个IDO组织的暑期项目。同时，因为海外暑期项目整个流程较长，为避免不必要的损失，不建议有相邻时期海外出行安排的同学报名。

6.请同学们谨慎考虑是否参加海外暑期项目，行政费1200元一经收取不做退款处理。

7.暑期项目学分不计入cGPA。1）暑课成绩C以上才可以申请转学分（不要选Pass/Not Pass之类);2) 在UIC读过有合格成绩的课不可以申请转学分。

8.应海外院校的要求，所有同学报名时应完成两次新冠疫苗的接种，并提供相关英文版本证据。

9.一般来说，IDO协办的海外暑期项目为团组项目。报名参加项目的同学即视为同意跟随学生团组出发和回国。一般来讲，团组的出发机场一般为广东省/香港的机场。任何项目内和项目截至时的个人行程将不被允许。

请于2023年3月3日下午4:30分前到IDO办公室（T4-103）提交如下资料，逾期不候：

1.身份证复印件一份（正反页面在同一面）

2.护照照片页复印件三份（照片页）

3.有父母及学生本人签名的报名表（*完成网上申请后系统会生成完整报名表，报名表内含有学生及家长签名确认书，家长签名处必须由家长亲笔签名，若无法提供已签名原件，可接受家长亲笔签名的扫描复印件！）

4.所有学期成绩单原件一份（所有学期成绩单，请到AR处打印） 

5.英语语言成绩（如需）。

Dear students,

Good day! After three long years of travel restrictions, the Chinese border opened for international travel. While a general health risk due to COVID 19 as well as uncertainties regarding travel remain, we are pleased to announce that IDO will accept applications for a selected range of onsite as well as several online 2023 summer programmes (* all programmes are subject to change).

UIC provides short-term overseas summer study opportunities for students. Every fulltime Y1-3 student meeting the application requirements is eligible to apply for the overseas summer program organized by IDO.

This program is a self-funded program, and students are invited to participate voluntarily according to their own needs. Before you apply please consider carefully all requirements, travel risks, policies by host institutions in order to make a well informed decision in communication with and with the consent of your parents/ legal guardian.

Once more information is available, the website will be updated accordingly, so please stay tuned.

A general information session will be organized as well as separate information sessions as far as available by host institutions.

2023 IDO Overseas Summer Program Information Session

Application instructions:

1.Y1-Y3 students with a minimum cGPA 2.0 (sGPA no less than 1.68) are welcome to apply.

2.Students who apply must hold a passport before March 2 which must have a validity of a minimum of 6 months after the end of the program!

3.Some of the programs require a specific cGPA and/or proof of English language proficiency. Please refer to the program list.

4.Students applying for Canadian programs must be over 19 years old as stipulated by the offering institutions, all other applicants must be over 18 years old!

5.Due to the limited seats and the tight time-lines especially for visa applications, each student is strongly recommended to only participate in one summer program organized by IDO. At the same time, because the entire process of the overseas summer program is relatively long, in order to avoid unnecessary financial losses, it is not recommended for students to have overseas travel arrangements in the adjacent period.

6.1200 RMB application fee per student will be charged for onsite programmes once the student is recruited by UIC. This fee is not refundable.

7.Please understand that units transferred from summer programs will not be calculated into cGPA. Courses already taken at UIC with a pass grade or above are not transferable.

8.In response to the requirements of overseas institutions, all students should complete two vaccinations of the COVID vaccines when registering, and be able to provide relevant evidence in English language.

9.In general, summer programmes facilitated by IDO are group programmes. Students who sign up for the programmes are deemed to agree to follow the student group to depart and return. Most likely, the departure airports of groups are the airports in Guangdong Province/Hong Kong. Individual travel during and after the programme is not permitted.
